Webinars discuss revisions to kidney and pancreas allocation policies

In June, we held webinars on plans to remove donation service areas and regions from kidney and pancreas distribution. View webinar recordings.
The OPTN Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation Committees are working on fall public comment proposals to remove DSA and regions from kidney and pancreas distribution. Although they are using a shared SRTR modeling request and feedback from a joint concept paper posted during public comment in the spring, the committees plan to issue separate proposals based on community feedback.
The OPTN is offering a national webinar to provide kidney and pancreas members an opportunity to learn about the SRTR modeling results, to hear an update on the committees’ progress, and to participate in discussion prior to the committees submitting proposals for public comment.
Both committees are committed to keeping the community informed and collecting valuable feedback prior to finalizing a proposed solution. Public comment proposals will be discussed at the 11 OPTN regional meetings held August-September. Regional meeting dates can be found on the OPTN Calendar of Events.
