Data

The OPTN's secure transplant information database contains all national data on the candidate waiting list, organ donation and matching, and transplantation. This system is critical in helping organ transplant institutions match waiting candidates with donated organs. Institutions also rely on the database to manage time-sensitive, life-critical data of all candidates, before and after their transplants.

A year of lifesaving milestones

Thanks to the selfless gift of organ donors and donor families, new all-time records were set for transplantation in 2022.

Visual dashboards

OPTN matching function performance OPTN computer system metrics dashboard

Computer and phone icons

Tracks the speed of the OPTN computer system matching function, the monthly overall availability of the OPTN system and provides a summary of software implementations or unplanned system downtime that impacted the matching function. Data on this dashboard comes from a quarterly report provided to the OPTN Network Operations and Oversight Committee by the OPTN contractor.

CPRA -

Calculated panel reactive antibody (CPRA) calculator

The calculated panel reactive antibody (CPRA) calculator is used to evaluate candidates for kidney, pancreas and kidney/pancreas transplants.

EPTS -

Estimated post transplant survival (EPTS) score calculator

An estimated post transplant survival (EPTS) score is assigned to all adult candidates on the kidney waiting list. View EPTS mapping table archives.

KDPI -

Kidney donor profile index (KDPI) calculator

The kidney donor profile index (KDPI) calculator summarizes the risk of graft failure after kidney transplant. View KDPI mapping table archives.

Lung CAS -

Lung composite allocation score (CAS) calculator

This is a sample calculator to show how the lung Composite Allocation Score (lung CAS) is established. It uses the same formula that is used for the lung allocation policy that took effect March 9, 2023.

MELD -

Model for end-stage liver disease (MELD) calculator

The model for end-stage liver disease (MELD) calculator is used for liver allocation for adult transplant candidates.

PELD -

Pediatric end-stage liver disease (PELD) calculator

The pediatric end-stage liver disease (PELD) calculator is used for liver allocation for pediatric transplant candidates.
