Transplant hospital definition bylaws effective Jan. 13

Effective Monday, Jan. 13, 2020, OPTN bylaws will be in effect updating the definition of a transplant hospital.  The new requirements, outlined in this policy notice, outline circumstances for transplant hospitals to operate in either one or more than one location.

At its December 2019 meeting, the OPTN Board of Directors approved changes to institutional criteria for transplant hospitals that opted either to merge or to separate their membership under the new bylaws.  The new bylaw criteria will be in effect for any subsequent member applications.
