Special public comment period begins March 27 for guidance document

A special public comment period begins March 27 to seek input on a guidance document intended to help transplant professionals explain to patients the differential risks in either accepting or refusing an organ offer with an increased risk of donor disease transmission. The comment period will end April 25.

The OPTN/UNOS Ad Hoc Disease Transmission Advisory Committee (DTAC) developed this guidance document along with AST, ASTS and NATCO, in response to requests from the transplant community to develop a resource to assist clinicians on this potentially challenging topic.

View a recording of a webinar held on April 4. It provides additional information about the project and the recommendations within the guidance document.
