Ad Hoc Geography Committee
The OPTN Ad Hoc Geography Committee was formed in January 2018 to establish principles and a framework to guide how OPTN policies should address future geographic distribution of organs. The committee was dissolved in December 2018 after fulfilling its charge established by the Board of Directors.
Committee charge
- Establish defined guiding principles for the use of geographic constraints in organ allocation
- Review and recommend frameworks/models for incorporating geographic principles into allocation policies
- Identify uniform concepts for organ specific allocation policies in light of the requirements of the OPTN Final Rule
