New board members named 2019

Richmond, Va.  -- Members of the national organ donation and transplantation community have elected 17 members to the OPTN Board of Directors, including a new president, vice-president/president-elect and treasurer.

 

All board members are volunteers and serve terms ranging from one to three years, depending on the office to which they are elected.  Their terms of service begin on July 1, 2019.

Maryl Johnson, M.D., currently the Vice President/President-Elect, will assume the presidency.  She is professor of medicine, heart failure and heart transplantation at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics.

David Mulligan, M.D., FACS, will become the Vice President/President-Elect.  He is professor of surgery and chief of transplantation surgery and immunology at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Robert Goodman, M.B.A., will become the Treasurer.  He is the founder and managing partner of The Mansfield Group, LLC, and a heart transplant recipient.

Region 10 Councillor – Atsushi Yoshida, M.D., Henry Ford Hospital

Region 11 Councillor – Seth Karp, M.D., Vanderbilt University Medical Center

At Large Physician Representative – Cameron Wolfe, M.D., M.P.H., Duke University Hospital
