2024-2027 OPTN Strategic Plan

The OPTN Board of Directors adopts a new Strategic Plan every three years to provide prioritization, guide high level decisions and direct resource allocation. The OPTN Executive Committee, on behalf of the OPTN Board of Directors, is embarking on the 2024-2027 OPTN strategic planning process by gathering feedback from the OPTN Board of Directors and the donation and transplant community, including patients, donor families, and living donors.

Understanding the strategic planning process:

• The OPTN Board of Directors brainstormed and discussed priorities for the community and system in June 2023.
• Themes from the OPTN Board of Directors brainstorming were shared and discussed at the summer 2023 regional meetings, attended by over 2,000 people.
• The Executive Committee will consider the community’s feedback as they refine the draft Strategic Plan.
• The Executive Committee is targeting taking the draft Strategic Plan to public comment in January 2024.
