Policy Proposals Issued for Public Comment Policy Proposal Process The Organ Procurement and Transplant Network (OPTN) policy development process includes solicitation of public input on policy and bylaw proposals. Public comment allows interested individuals to submit feedback before policies and bylaws are reviewed and considered by the OPTN/UNOS Board of Directors.
Successful organ transplantation depends on the cooperation of many people and organizations. The OPTN strongly encourages all interested individuals - especially transplant candidates - to get involved in the public comment process and express their views.
Public Comment Notice Six new policy proposals, developed by OPTN/UNOS committees, are now being offered for public comment, through December 14, 2012. Then, sponsoring committees will review the feedback and consider modifications. The OPTN/UNOS Board of Directors may then review and vote on these proposals at its meeting June 24-25, 2013. View these policy proposals now. We request your input by December 14, 2012.
