Marilyn S. Pollack, Ph.D., D(ABHI), [ASHI] is director of the histocompatibility and immunogenetics laboratory at the University Health System Hospital and professor of pathology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
Dr. Pollack has served on the OPTN/ UNOS histocompatibility and minority affairs committees. She is president-elect of the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI).
She has served ASHI in a number of capacities, including director of the proficiency testing and accreditation programs. She is a member of the Texas Organ Sharing Alliance clinical coordinating committee and a member of the Texas organ, tissue and eye donor council of the Texas Department of State Health Services. She also has served as chair of the membership committee of the American Society of Transplant Physicians.
She earned a doctoral degree in physiology and biochemistry from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J.
